Rustic elegance meets Hawaiian hospitality on our Sunset Lawn. Kiawe Nights was born from the desire to return to the rich tradition of real Hawaiian cooking: outdoor, with fire. We focus on local food sources paired with wines sourced from around the world and craft beverages designed for each event. Since food is sourced locally, every event is different. Prior menus have included Axis deer venison, Wagyu tenderloin, spiny lobster, Ehu (red snapper), sourdough loaves and lilikoi sorbet. A laid-back social experience, Kiawe Nights is an opportunity to break bread with your fellow hotel guests and members of the local community while enjoying a unique dining experience under the stars.
Your host, Yeshua Goodman, is an Advanced Sommelier born on the Big Island and raised on Maui. As a lifelong resident he understands the importance of preserving the Hawaiian culture and sharing Aloha through his cooking.
Shua, as he is known to his friends, prepares food over kiawe, a thorny invasive hardwood tree native to South America that has completely transformed the Maui coastline, making some places impassable. Kiawe and local ingredients are plentiful and vital in Shua’s fiery presentation of Hawaiian cooking traditions
Experience a five-course meal, with exquisite wine pairings, prepared over a fire, under the stars.
