VISITOR REQUIREMENTS
Please ensure that you are up to date on the latest government regulations when traveling to Hawaii. Upon reopening, there will be a screening procedure that may include temperature checking as well as a series of questions regarding health and recent travel.
Hawaii State Pre-Travel Testing Program
Pre-travel testing provides travelers with an alternative to the mandatory 10-day quarantine if they are tested no earlier than 72 hours before arrival in Hawaii with an FDA-approved nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), performed using a nasal swab, and can show proof of negative test results from a CLIA certified laboratory before boarding the final leg of their flight (as of November 24th, 2020). Travelers also will have their temperatures checked upon arrival and must fill out a travel and health form. Upon arrival in Hawaii, passengers unable to provide proof of an approved negative test will be required to go into quarantine for 10 days or the duration of their visit, whichever is shorter.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Hotel Wailea does require that every guest present an approved negative COVID-19 test upon check-in. We do not have the facilities for guests to quarantine on the property. If you are unable to attain a negative test prior to arrival, we will happily reschedule or refund your reservation.
Our employees will be wearing masks. In accordance with the advice of medical experts and industry best practices, all guests will be required to wear a mask or face covering when in public spaces on the property and when receiving service while in their suite.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Maui's quarantine policy?
At the time of writing, Maui has a mandatory self-quarantine policy of 10 days for all travelers arriving on the island. Travelers can avoid this quarantine by presenting proof of an approved negative COVID-19 test that was taken within 72 hours of arrival on the island. Negative test results must be received before boarding the final leg of your flight to Hawaii.
Please note that it is imperative that your test be from a preferred partner. A list of these and other detailed information can be found at: hawaiicovid19.com
What is an approved negative COVID-19 test?
From the State of Hawaii’s website, hawaiicovid19.com: All travelers ages five and over are required to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a certified Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) lab in order to bypass the State of Hawai‘i’s 14-day mandatory quarantine.
The State of Hawaiʻi will accept test results ONLY from TRUSTED TESTING AND TRAVEL PARTNERS
The test will need to be taken no more than 72 hours before your flight departure time. If you have a multi-city flight itinerary, the departure time is from the last city you leave before arriving at a Hawai‘i airport (e.g. if your travel is from Chicago to Seattle to Kahului, the departure time to look at is your flight from Seattle).
What if I don't receive my test results in time?
If you haven’t received your negative test results by the time you arrive on the island, the Safe Travels team at the airport will require you to quarantine until the results come in. As of November 24, 2020, negative test results must be received before boarding the final leg of your flight to Hawaii. If the results are not in by time of boarding, you will be subject to a mandatory quarantine of 14-days or the duration of your stay, whichever is shortest.
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to provide quarantine space at Hotel Wailea, but we will help advise you on which properties are available. We have been recommending both the Marriott Residence Inn in Wailea or the Marriott Courtyard Inn in Kahului for a comfortable yet affordable stay in quarantine. Once your negative test results arrive, we are happy to welcome you up to Hotel Wailea and will refund you fully for the nights you were unable to stay.
What is the hotel's cancellation policy?
For the greatest flexibility, our Best Flexible Rate offers full cancellation 14 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellation policies vary by rate and package.
Are all of your amenities open?
Yes, our on-property amenities such as the pool and cabanas, pool bar, fitness studio, beach valet, The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea, Treehouse, and Tesla house car service around the Wailea area. At this time, we are asking our guests not to plan a road trip to Hana as their remote community is delicate. Your rental car company will tell you the same. Mahalo for your compassion!

- Children under the age of 5;

- As specifically allowed by a provision of a State or county COVID-19 related order, rule, or proclamation.
Are reservations required for the facilities?
No, currently we are not requiring reservations for facilities, however we do ask that guests and employees maintain the appropriate distance from each other in accordance with industry best practices. While we are not offering group classes at this time, we are able to schedule private yoga classes for any interested guests.
What are the hotel's cleaning protocols?
At Hotel Wailea, the health and safety of our guests and team members is our highest priority. We would like to take this opportunity to share the steps we have taken to ensure your safety and comfort during your stay with us.
In all areas of operations, we are diligently following the recommendations of the CDC, federal, and state agencies. We have enhanced our sanitation procedures in all suites and public areas, and we strictly manage our staff cleanliness procedures including hand washing and mask wearing. We are also taking extra precautions by supervising our team members carefully, ensuring that any staff member who feels ill stays home and takes the proper recovery time before returning to work.
Again, our number one priority is to maintain a healthy environment for the comfort and safety of our guests and team. Using the EPA’s list of recommended cleaning products to eliminate the COVID-19 virus, we have trained our housekeeping team to use the appropriate solutions for each surface, using color-coded rags for each respective area. We have also procured specialized equipment, such as the Electrostatic Sprayer and UVC LED sterilizers, to disinfect surfaces of all sizes in even the hardest-to-reach areas.
We are monitoring the situation very closely by staying in contact with trusted health organizations and adjusting our practices as needed. Your health is vitally important to us, and we hope that our commitment in these areas provides you with comfort during these challenging circumstances.
